The King’s Well church plant will be built in the community centered on Christ and His Word as our true foundation and only hope.

1 Corinthians 3: 10-11

"10 According to God’s grace that was given to me, I have laid a foundation as a skilled master builder, and another builds on it. But each one is to be careful how he builds on it. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than what has been laid. That foundation is Jesus Christ."

The King’s Well is deeply rooted in the historic creeds and confession of the Church.

The King's Well affirms the Essentials of our faith.
  1. We believe in one God, the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. To Him be all honor, glory, and praise forever!

  1. Jesus Christ, the living Word, became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. He who is true God became true man united in one Person forever. He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. On the third day He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Mediator.

  1. The true Church is composed of all persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit are united together in the body of Christ. The Church finds her visible yet imperfect expression in local congregations where the Word of God is preached in its purity and the sacraments are administered in their integrity, where scriptural discipline is practiced, and where loving fellowship is maintained. For her perfecting she awaits the return of her Lord.

Essentials

All Scripture is self-attesting, and being Truth requires our unreserved submission in all areas of life. The infallible Word of God—the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments—is a complete and unified witness to God’s redemptive acts culminating in the incarnation of the Living Word, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible, uniquely and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, is the supreme and final authority on all matters on which it speaks. On this sure foundation, we affirm these additional essentials of our faith.

  1. Being estranged from God and condemned by our sinfulness, our salvation is wholly dependent upon the work of God’s free grace. God credits His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justifies them in His sight. Only such as are born of the Holy Spirit and receive Jesus Christ become children of God and heirs of eternal life.

  1. The Holy Spirit has come to glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to our hearts. He convicts us of sin and draws us to the Savior, indwelling our hearts. He gives new life to us, empowers and imparts gifts to us for service. He instructs and guides us into all truth, and seals us for the day of redemption.

  1. Jesus Christ will come again to the earth personally, visibly, and bodily—to judge the living and the dead, and to consummate history and the eternal plan of God. “Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20).

  1. The Lord Jesus Christ commands all believers to proclaim the gospel throughout the world and to make disciples of all nations. Obedience to the Great Commission requires total commitment to “Him who loved us and gave Himself for us.” He calls us to a life of self-denying love and service. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).

The King's Well is Confessionally Reformed
Reformed Catholicity

Reformed churches embrace Calvinistic beliefs, asserting that salvation is a miraculous work of God, transforming hearts wholly rebellious against Him. These tenets are summarized by the acronym TULIP:

Total Depravity (Ephesians 2:1-6, Romans 8:7)

Unconditional Election (John 15:16, Romans 9:11-21)

Limited Atonement (Acts 20:28, John 10:11)

Irresistible Grace (John 6:37, Ezekiel 11:19) and

Perseverance of the Saints (Philippians 1:6, Romans 8:37-39).

These principles underscore God's sovereign role in salvation, challenging hearts, and guiding believers toward Christlike living.

Covenantal

Covenantal theology asserts that God's relationship with humanity has always been structured through covenants. The initial covenant of works, established in Eden, required perfect obedience for a harmonious connection with God. When this bond shattered due to human disobedience, God introduced the Covenant of Grace, offering salvation through faith in Christ. This faith, initially focused on the promise of a future Savior in Genesis 3, evolved to encompass Abraham's lineage, Israel's descendants, and David's line in the Old Testament.

Throughout this covenantal framework, God provided laws, including the timeless 10 Commandments, guiding His people's conduct. Genuine heirs of faith demonstrated obedience rooted in their trust in God, as the Law ultimately pointed to Christ's fulfillment and transformation of hearts towards obedience.

Confessional

Confessional signifies alignment with key historic Christian confessions, such as the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Larger and Shorter Catechism, the Heidelberg Catechism, Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dort. These confessions complement, not supplant, the Bible's authority, serving to establish its proper interpretation regarding beliefs about God and human responsibilities.

Committed to the 5 Solas

The Reformation's inception is often attributed to Martin Luther's posting of the 95 theses on the Wittenberg church door. However, it was John Wycliffe and William Tyndale's Bible translation work that set the stage for the Reformed faith's surge. The transformative concept of establishing the Bible as the sole authority for faith propelled later reformers to break away from the Roman Catholic Church.

By Grace Alone

Through Faith Alone

In Christ Alone

On the Authority of Scripture Alone

To the Glory of God Alone

These five solas epitomize the central theme of Scripture Alone as the ultimate authority. A Reformed church adheres to the five solas, focusing primarily on how justification is attained.

Core Values
Intentionally Reformed

The King’s Well embraces the timeless teachings of the traditional councils, creeds, confessions, and catechisms, including the Westminster Confession of Faith. We affirm the significance of these beliefs for our community and church, emphasizing our connection as believers to the universal, invisible church. This foundation guides our understanding and practice as we seek to faithfully live out our faith and share its truths with others.

Intentionally Multicultural

Revelation 7:9-10 describes a time when the church will gather before God to worship Him. At The King’s Well, we embody this vision by intentionally reaching people of diverse cultures, languages, and traditions within our membership and community, reflecting this reality in our leadership and fellowship. Through understanding, dialogue, and mutual respect, we aim to build bridges across cultures, inspired by the example of the early church in Antioch where believers were first called Christians, demonstrating God's love for all people.

Missional

Missio Dei, meaning the mission of God, emphasizes that our mission is not merely to plant churches but to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Just as the Father sent the Son to restore us into right relationship, the church is sent to proclaim to the world what Christ has accomplished and how we can participate in His glorious redemption. This mission guides us in sharing God's love and truth with all people, inviting them to experience the transformative power of faith in Christ.

Community Focused

To be community-focused at The King’s Well is not merely about outward engagement, but rather about cultivating deep relationships and community within the church. Jesus, in His priestly prayer, assures the Apostles that through their testimony, we come to know Him (John 17:20). He further teaches that through knowing Him in this way, we are drawn into a profound community with Him, the Father, and the Spirit. This understanding shapes our commitment to fostering genuine fellowship and spiritual unity among our members as we grow together in faith and love.
